About "A typical Dutch scene at Keukenhof."

About the artwork

Keukenhof is a world-famous flower park located on the estate of Keukenhof Castle. The estate originated in 1642 when a manor house was built. The Keukenhof has existed since 1949 and was designed on the northern part of the estate at the initiative of the then mayor of the nearby village of Lisse and a dozen important flower bulb growers from the area.

The Keukenhof covers 32 hectares and is open for eight weeks in spring. It is visited by more than a million tourists every year, more than 75 per cent of whom come from abroad, with more than seven million tulips blooming in all kinds of different forms, of which this photo is an example, crocuses, daffodils, hyacinths lilies and other bulbous plants. There are also guided tours, a boat trip on a whisper boat is possible and there are also several pavilions with cut and potted plants. When taking photos, it is hard to choose: do I go for the overall picture or zoom in on part of this colourful splendour? Or do I opt for a photo of one of the many visitors at Keukenhof?

This time I chose the latter: it's a typically Dutch scene: we see an elderly couple taking a break to eat the sandwiches they brought themselves at their leisure among the beautiful flowering daffodils. How Dutch can you have it?

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
