A red sky at night, is a sailors delight. It is a famous saying among sailors. So we were delighted when we saw the last rays of sunlight turn the sky over Beachy Head, a few dozen kilometres west of Dover on the English Channel, so beautifully red. Unfortunately, the beautiful weather promised with the beautiful red sunset did not last very long: a day later we were already sailing further west with two reefs in the mainsail in a strong north wind. But we had caught that beautiful sunset anyway.
