A man's face between dream and dissolution - The face in the flow of warmth and coolness by AidasignArt

In this intensely coloured work, the portrait of a young man unfolds, his frontal face forming the centre of the composition in a calm unity. The closed eyes lend the depiction a quiet, almost meditative aura - as if the moment between dream and awakening has been captured.

The painting is characterised by a dynamic movement that runs through the pictorial space from right to left. Colours, shapes and contours seem to be blown away by the wind or carried away by the water, so that the face is placed in a state of limbo between clarity and dissolution. What appears firmly outlined one moment begins to dissolve the next, as if the picture itself wants to visualise the transience of form and feeling.

The colour tone develops in a narrative manner, as it were: starting from warm, luminous tones - a bright orange, a soft red - the left half of the picture radiates warmth and openness. But the further you look to the right, the more the mood changes. The warm tones gradually give way to cooler shades, until finally blue tones in both light and deep nuances dominate the right-hand side, lending it a mysterious, almost flowing depth.

The painting thus unfolds an arc of tension between warmth and coolness, between dissolution and condensation. The young man's face becomes a projection screen for inner movements that do not stand still but are constantly changing - like a stream that is made visible in colours and forms.
