I took this photo on the Beekhuizerzand near Harderwijk. It is a distinctive sand drift on the Veluwe. The tree in the photo is a Scots pine that is now dead. To since the other pines on the Beekhuizerzand are still alive, I don't know why this pine died. I liked the shape of the branches/trunks for the photo. I used 5 different photos with different exposures for this photo, I merged these 5 photos into 1 HRD photo in post processing. You can also see some texture in the sky because of this while the tree is also well exposed. The pine that you see is on a dune which also has a viewpoint, it is probably the most photographed tree of the sand drift.
