A black and white photograph of a misty morning

"A black-and-white photograph of a misty morning at the edge of a Hembrug park. A mesh fence and the canal separate the little park from the ship moored in the harbour opposite. Through the mist, the sun cautiously breaks through. The bare trees and empty bench emphasise the serene calm along the North Sea Canal."

With my work as a street photographer, I show the rough, unpolished sides of city life. With my photographs, I try to capture the beauty of everyday moments. The viewer can then invent his or her own story to go with it. I also have a fondness for industrial environments, such as harbour sites and factory buildings, where traces of the industrial past are still present. In doing so, I try to photograph subtle details, using both digital and analogue cameras.
