When you look through the gate of Leiden's Burcht, an enchanting view of the imposing Hooglandse Kerk unfolds. This vista is not just a pretty sight; it is a symbolic glimpse of the city's rich history. The Burcht, situated on an artificial hill, is one of the oldest defences in the Netherlands.
