About the artwork

The digital artwork shows a serene and atmospheric view of Langbroekerweg a22, the historic gatehouse of Sandenburg Castle. Under a brilliant blue sky, an imposing, soft cloud slowly drifts by, giving the sky a sense of space and calm. The house itself, characteristically stuccoed and simple in form, is central to the scene. The front façade is partly bathed in shadow, with a large downstairs window contrasting darkly with the light façade. Above this window, two small, symmetrical windows stand out, giving the façade a subdued, almost drawn-in look.
A small tower rises on the left side of the house, crenellated at the top, subtly contrasting with the simplicity of the rest of the house. At the front of the artwork, colourful shrubs bloom, their flowers rendered in soft tones, adding a lively touch to the scene.
