About "120. Silo church"

About the artwork

Under a brilliant blue sky, sleek and cloudless, the Silo church stands still in the light of a late morning sun. The building is largely bathed in shadow, giving the white stuccoed façade a cool, almost subdued look. Only the top edge of the façade catches the sun, like a subtle glimmer of light highlighting the relief of the stucco. The white colour here appears almost glossy, contrasting with the shadow that envelops the rest of the building.
The windows reflect the scene from across the street: faint outlines of houses a roofline, and patches of blue sky dancing through the glass like loose brushstrokes. Hanging on the wall are two old-fashioned black lanterns, each with graceful, curved arms, as if greeting passers-by with a nod. Their dark silhouettes stand out sharply against the light wall, casting fragile shadows on the stucco.
At first glance, the building is reminiscent of an ordinary residential house, with its simple lines and the modest dormer that rises above the roof. Yet the large stone entrance with classical columns betrays something of its original function. The columns flank an imposing wooden door, dark and stately, as if still seeking to preserve a sense of solemnity.
The Silo Church seems like a place between past and present, where architecture and light together tell a story - without words, but visible in every detail.
