Kerstin Franz
Born in 1970 and raised in Freigericht, resident in Gelnhausen from 1993 to 2012. Since 2013, resident with studio space together with my partner Jörg "Yogi" Schäfer in Freigericht-Bernbach. First exhibition in 1996.
2003-2013 + from 8-2024 freelance artist.
2007 Founding member of kunstverein-meerholz.de and still active on the board today. I began to explore the effect of colours and energies on people in 1992. My painted colour energies are a reflection of my experiences, thoughts and emotions, but also of the effect of colours, colour energies and symbols on people and living spaces. The mostly abstract works, some of which feature geometric shapes, lines and suggested figures, are created using a variety of materials, such as acrylic paints, charcoal and pastel chalks.
Through different techniques, tools and, in some cases, repeated washing and repainting, my pictures grow in many layers, deepening and intensifying the energies of the colours.

For more than 25 years, I have held regular solo and group exhibitions, and from 2020 onwards, exhibitions in our studio in Bernbach, which is open to visitors.
My works are held in private and corporate collections in Germany, Italy, Switzerland and France, as well as in public collections.
