As an artist, I try to engage in playful discovery. Letting go, attention, focus, enjoying the process, allowing frustration etc.
Art is a visual language.
Communicating, touching, rubbing, wondering.
Becoming still, no words for a while.
I have been drawing and painting all my life and it has become my language.
Searching, making studies, getting and giving lessons, getting to know materials, sparring with fellow artists etc.
But above all playing, playing and discovering.
And developing craftsmanship.
I paint with acrylic paint, oil paint and sometimes watercolour. I also use mixed techniques. My colours and style have their own signature: exuberant, direct and with a touch of tantalising symbolism. A clear characteristic of my work is that it has movement.
My work challenges you to think about meaning, spirituality and the controversy between the brokenness and beauty of life.
