I was born in New Zealand and now live in the Netherlands with my Dutch wife and 2 children.
I have been active as an artist for over 20 years. I enjoyed my education at the Art School of South Australia, Adelaide in the early 90?s.
I have been very much a figurative painter working with oils on canvas. I have Exhibited in Australia and New Zealand.
After being very sick in 2010 I found myself not having the energy to paint. Still wanting to fulfill by creative needs I begun working with digital photography.
I see my photography as a progression of my painting.
As I?m learning more and more about photography I find myself leaning more & more to B&W. First of all there?s just something special about B&W photography, it has something mysterious, something nostalgic and something dramatic to it.
There?s so much beauty in the simplicity of using just monotones. Furthermore I know from myself that I have this ability to express myself far more effectively in Black and White than I could ever do in colour. That was my initial explanation to myself.
My goal in photography is to use the medium to create art
