The Koenigssee in the Berchtesgadener Land

The Königssee is a mountain lake in the municipality of Schönau am Königssee in the Berchtesgadener Land district. The electric boat operated by Königssee Schifffahrt glides silently across the fjord-like lake - emerald-green water glitters in the sun, the sky glows white-blue. Surrounded by the unique Alps of the Berchtesgaden National Park and the mighty backdrop of the Watzmann east face, the boat trip across the Königssee is an unforgettable experience in both summer and winter. The peculiarity of the Königssee is that it can only be visited by boat. The steep cliffs drop down to the shore, so there are no roads, footpaths or bike paths around the lake.
