Art Journal Collages | Handmade Stories in Mixed Media
Art Journal Collages is a personal collection of collages in which paper, paint, ink, drawings, patterns, fragments of text and found imagery come together to form new stories. Most of the works originally began as handmade pages in my art journal. A number of compositions were later further developed or refined digitally in Photoshop. Animals, human figures, eyes, geometric forms and colorful imaginary worlds refer to themes such as hope, change, identity, freedom and personal growth. Some collages are playful and colorful, while others feel raw, mysterious or introspective. Torn edges, visible layers and small imperfections are an essential part of the visual language. After scanning, some works received a subtle digital finish to enhance their color, contrast and texture. The tactile character of the original collage remains visible throughout. For lovers of art journals, handmade collage art, mixed-media art, symbolic art and expressive wall art, this collection offers a layered world filled with imagination and personal stories.
