In this work, you see a girl illuminated by sunlight streaming through blinds. The streaks of light create a unique pattern on her face. Her gaze is intense and calm, and if you look closely, you'll notice small details like the soft glow in her eyes and the imperfections on her skin. These are precisely what make the image honest and real.
The inspiration for this work came on a quiet afternoon. The sunlight filtered into my room in a particular way, and I wanted to capture that moment. I was struck by how light and shadow combined can evoke a feeling. Films in which light plays a significant role, like American Beauty, also influenced me.
I wanted to create a quiet, intimate atmosphere. A moment of tranquility, in which someone turns inward for a moment. The work evokes feelings of vulnerability, but also of strength and acceptance. The image was created during a period when I was searching for more peace and balance.
I used only natural light, without any editing, to keep the image pure. The blinds are not only a source of light, but also a kind of boundary between inside and outside – both literally and figuratively.
This work fits well in an interior where tranquility, reflection, and depth are important. Its simplicity and emotion draw attention, giving a space a human and sincere quality.
