About ‘see no evil’ by norbert weijde

This is a series, consisting of 3 images about child abuse.

Hear, See and Silence. We see a child in an abstract environment, abused and full of bruises.

The essence of the 3 works are about the abused child and seeing and noting that it is happening and then remaining silent about it and not acting.

Hearing: In the picture of Hearing, the child's ears are covered with a white bandaged cloth. In this, we know the child is being mistreated but then act as if nothing has happened.

Seeing: In this picture, the child's eyes are covered with a white cloth. disoriented, the child looks around.

Silence: here the child's mouth is gagged.

The series of pictures's evoke a terrible feeling of helplessness, pain and sadness in the viewer. Perhaps the feeling of it is done, it should not and cannot be done.

NB: The child in the photo is my son from 18 years ago. I love my son dearly and would never do this to him. All the wounds and bruises are created and not real. Even the bandages were applied loosely and without any pain and force. Also, my son , still very young, participated in this voluntarily. The photo session did not even last 15 minutes.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
