The red-brown hornbill or red-brown hornbill (Buceros hydrocorax) can be found in the Philippines.
The red hornbill can grow to a size of 60-65 cm, making it the largest hornbill in the Philippines. Three subspecies of the hornbill are known. The hydrocorax hydrocorax on Luzon and Marinduque in the north, the hydrocorax semigaleatus on the central islands and the hydrocorax mindanensis on Mindanao, Basilan and the other southern islands. All three subspecies are in possession of the characteristic large red beak. The red hornbill lives in small groups of 3-7 birds. The species is particularly noisy and their regular calls can be heard up to distances of over a kilometre.
