In the autumn forest of the Veluwe you will come across the fascinating true tundra mushrooms. These striking mushrooms often grow on the trunks of old, dead trees. Their hard, hoof-shaped appearance and grey-brown colour make them easy to spot. The thunder mushroom plays an important role in the forest as it contributes to the decomposition of wood, returning nutrients to the soil.

They remind us of the cycle of life and decay in nature.
