A common insect in southern Europe, the pyjama bug. The red and black stripes on its back and the black dots on its belly make it a striking little animal. Still, this remains fun to photograph, but they are usually fairly hidden.
This one was sitting on a spent flower, where they are usually on the inside. The contrast of the greenish and the red makes the animal jump out of the photo.
Ronald Buitendijk started a few years ago with photographing animals he was looking for. With great pleasure he goes looking for wild animals to put them on film. Of course this is done in a way to disturb the animals as little as possible.
