The olive is the fruit of the olive tree (Olea europaea), a tree of the olive family (Oleaceae). The genus Olea has about 20 species with a large distribution, mainly in the Old World. The olive itself is eaten and out of the pit and the pulp is extracted olive oil. The olive is traditionally and today one of the main agricultural products include the countries around the Mediterranean.
Why is olive healthy? People who eat a lot of olive oil generally have a healthier heart. This is due to the monounsaturated fatty acids in olives. Also, olives free of cholesterol.
In addition to vitamin E, olives also contain vitamin D, vitamin B1, and B2. Olives keep bones and joints healthy. Thus, olives reduce the risk of rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoporosis.
