the sun, barely gone in the night
breaks its rays of light through the atmosphere
projects on the firmament, devoid of daylight
an unprecedented array of colours

the jagged rock ledges, half submerged
a melange of spicy scents is uninterrupted
brought to my nose by a sultry, salty breeze
as talking voices are hushed in time
stepping shoes no longer tread the stone path
angels sleep on rocks disguised as seagulls
an overwhelming sense of calm and profound peace
is welcomed jubilantly by my restless heart
the infinite vastness ... passed into silence
