Food - Cantonese cuisine. Chinese Egg tart. 蛋撻, a pastry custard tart originating in the Guangzhou area derived from European pastries such as the Portuguese Pastel de Nata. There are two main varieties, the Hong Kong / Guangzhou such as those pictured and the Macau version which has a caramelised brown top. Happy tart jumping in the air with a speech bubble saying Egg Tart in Chinese.
