On the salt marshes of groningen, I came across this beautiful scene. A Belgian horse was grazing the grass. The space with a beautiful cloud blanket only made it more beautiful. At high tide, all the little things that might be rather distracting and irrelevant disappear. After all, less is often more beautiful. What an openness I experience with this image. the sounds of birds and the openness steal my heart especially if you live near it. The washed-up edges of the salt marsh tell the history of the tide. The smell of the mud that is always noticeable there fills your senses until your head is once again freed from stress and worry. If you are you can spend hours looking in the direction of Rottum and schiermonnikoog. Even the clouds suck your attention in so that you end up travelling there once Noordpolderzijl. The Wadden Sea has so many faces and vistas that it is amazing. And yet it is grass, clouds and salt marshes and so much more.
