About ‘garlic and rosemary oil paint’ by Astridsart
An oil painting of a bulb of garlic and rosemary lying on a wooden table. Ingredients that I use almost daily in the kitchen and were therefore an inspiration to capture. You see the garlic in the bulb, loose with the skin still on and a clove that has been peeled. The rosemary is from my herb garden.

"I get hungry when I look at your paintings" is a comment I often hear. My culinary scenes combine two of my passions: painting and cooking. I get inspired by the colors, smells and different textures of the ingredients that I photograph and then paint (and of course eat) them. I also paint portraits. I paint in a classical style with oil paint and more expressionist with acrylic, sometimes combined with mixed media techniques.
