The Withandgibbon or lar (Hylobates lar) is the best known species of the family gibbons (Hylobatidae), often seen in zoos. It belongs to the superfamily of the great apes (Hominoidea) and can be found in wooded areas in Yunnan (China), Burma, Thailand, Malacca and Sumatra.
