About ‘Winter windmills along the water near Zaandam’ by Ewold Kooistra
Three characteristic windmills along the water, captured on a quiet winter's day at the Zaanse Schans. A thin layer of snow covers the fields in the foreground and emphasises the clean lines of the landscape. The dark Zaan river forms a powerful contrast with the white winter carpet, making the windmills stand out even more.
