Wine-red Art Deco Stained-Glass Painting: Sunset with a Peacock’s Tail by Surreal Media

At the top of the panel, delicate golden lines radiate like the rays of a rising sun across areas of wine-red, coral and soft pink glass. Right in the centre, a round, champagne-gold sun glows, as if backlit. Beneath it, long, curved shapes in dark emerald and coral red fan out upwards like a peacock’s tail, each encircled by a thin golden line. All around is a border of pearlescent, marbled glass in pale shades of pink. Note the small detail along the central axis: a row of champagne-gold bubbles rising upwards, like bubbles in a glass. You don’t notice them straight away, but they lend the piece a festive air.

This piece made me think of the moment when a party is just getting started and the evening still holds endless possibilities. That is the atmosphere of Gatsby and the Roaring Twenties: glamour, anticipation and a slight sense of dizziness. It is a digital artwork in the style of stained glass, with rippling cathedral glass and a soft sheen on the gold.

The colours are warm and deep. The red brings energy, the green brings tranquillity and the gold lends the whole piece a luxurious feel. The result is a piece that exudes pride yet remains inviting.

In a dining room, it sets the tone for long dinners; in the living room, it adds warmth to a dark wall. In a hall or office, it’s an eye-catcher that sparks conversation. It suits people who love a festive atmosphere and details that you only discover later.
