Windmills Afsluitdijk at sunrise.
On a quiet warm Sunday morning I captured this image on my camera. I was driving over the Afsluitdijk on my way to Haarlem for a photo meeting. Looking to the right I saw this spectacle. Of course I immediately took the car to the nearest parking lot across the road. Fortunately the full camera bag was with me. The rising sun between the windmills has something rustic and peaceful. The sky was a beautiful orange-yellow, which are very warm colors.
The windmills are nicely balanced in relation to each other. The rising sun keeps your attention in the middle so you can dream away. The water was calm and a few birds were flying through the air to the right of the sun. The sun reflected in the water just like the shadow of the windmills to the left and right of the sun. Because the center is nicely lit and the sides are a bit darker, your attention remains central. The sun is not quite in the center but the windmill in front of the image creates that balance.
One day it's flowers, the next day it's animals or a landscape, or just an object.
A little experimenting with colours, depth, my imagination and creativity suits me.
