About ‘Windmill silhouettes at Zaanse Schans’ by Jarno Pors

Zaanse Schans is an iconic open-air museum in the Netherlands, famous for its historic windmills. Located in the Zaanstreek region, it offers stunning views of traditional mills that were crucial to the industrial development of the Netherlands in the 17th and 18th centuries. The mills at Zaanse Schans are well preserved and are an important testimony to the technological advances of the time. They were originally used for grinding grain, pressing oil, sawing wood and making paper. Each mill has its own specific function, and visitors can often see the working mills in action.

The Zaanse Schans houses not only the mills, but also characteristic wooden houses, workshops and museums showing life in the region in former times. It is a living museum where visitors can discover traditional crafts, such as clog-making and cheese making. The mills themselves, with their imposing sails and charming appearance, form the heart of Zaanse Schans and are a symbolic image of the Dutch landscape. It is a place where history and culture come together, and where visitors can experience the rich heritage of the Netherlands.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
