White Pocket is a small but unimaginably beautiful piece of nature located in the Vermillion Cliffs National Monument in the state of Arizona. We came to this area while on holiday in New Mexico, USA. There we booked a tour through a guide to go into the very remote part of the Vermillions Cliffs. The rocky area, White Pocket consists of petrified sand dunes. The red, pink and yellow colours of the rock come from minerals that have entered the rock via groundwater. Getting to White Pocket is not easy, the roads leading to this area consist largely of deep, loose sand and the danger of getting the wheels of the car stuck is very high. You are in a very remote and little-visited area here, so you are entirely on your own. It is therefore recommended to do the drive to White Pocket with at least two cars, or to use the services of an experienced guide.
