Weir complex in the river De Lek near Hagestein. If there is too much melter from abroad or too much rainfall, the weir will be closed to prevent flooding. Often a combination of factors is important. For example, weirs from the North Sea caused by a onshore storm often prevent the water from draining into the sea.
