Vintage Amsterdam Travel Poster – View of St Nicholas’ Basilica across the canal by Danny van Eldik

Bring the iconic cityscape and historic grandeur of the Dutch capital into your home with this unique vintage travel poster of Amsterdam. This graphic artwork is based on an authentic photograph taken by the artist and offers an atmospheric view across the historic canal towards the majestic dome and towers of St Nicholas’ Basilica. A classic stone bridge with its characteristic rounded arches connects the tree-lined quays, where typical canal-side houses, moored boats and parked bicycles exude authentic Amsterdam charm. A seagull gliding through the clear sky dotted with friendly cumulus clouds enhances the sense of space and freedom above the city centre.

The bold retro typography featuring ‘ 'AMSTERDAM' ’ at the top, combined with refined halftone screens and a warm colour palette of summery sky blue, terracotta, sandy yellow and fresh green, is reminiscent of classic travel posters from the early twentieth century.

This stylish wall decoration blends harmoniously into modern, Scandinavian, industrial and vintage interiors alike, and makes an elegant focal point in the living room, study or hall. A lasting memento of the city and a beautiful work of art for anyone with a soft spot for Amsterdam, available in high quality as an art print on, amongst other materials, canvas, acrylic glass, sleek aluminium Dibond or framed as a poster.
