I took this picture on the Ermelosche heath in the Veluwe. This heathland is located on a lateral moraine so you have a beautiful view at a number of points. I went to the Ermelosche Heide because of the bloom of the heather and also that it is close by. Because of the grass between the heather, the heather is not a nice purple even though there are sheep walking there to graze. The tree in the photo is an oak tree that can be found more often on the heathland. While taking this picture I stood on a hill and used a low vantage point. Despite the fact that there were people walking on the moors, I still managed to make sure that there were no people in the photo, which created a peaceful atmosphere. I have chosen to photograph through 2 heather bushes to get more depth in the picture. Besides that it was sunny, there were also some clouds.
