Between Ulestraten and Meerssen (South Limburg) you will find the hamlet of Waterval. In these beautiful and peaceful surroundings it is lovely to walk.
The name Waterval means 'a valley hollowed out by water' and it must have been a good place to live a long time ago, given the prehistoric finds that have been made here.
From the Wijngaardsberg you can enjoy a magnificent panorama and I took a picture there last summer which I have recently developed into the drawing you see here. Down in the valley with slope forests, you see Waterfall and in the background the village of Raar.
Karen Nijst has lived in and near her beloved hometown of Maastricht for many years. She currently works as a web developer (Kahlo Websites in Hapert, Brabant) and is responsible for both programming and graphic design .
