Through a natural opening in the rock face, you look out onto the azure sea. The water colours from turquoise to deep blue, and right in the middle a small fishing boat floats calmly on the waves. If you look longer, you can see how the light illuminates the stones under the water and how the jagged shapes of the rocks almost form a gateway to the horizon.
This image came about during a trip along the coast, where I became fascinated by how nature itself creates vistas. Sometimes it seems as if the earth opens a window, giving you a new perspective on the world around you.
The photo exudes tranquillity, freedom and a touch of adventure. The contrast between the shelter of the cave and the endless sea beyond gives a sense of balance: safety and openness at the same time.
Describe the emotion or message you want to convey with this work.
For me, this work is about finding moments of silence and wonder. Like being allowed to stand still for a moment and look at something bigger through a frame. It reminds me that there are always new vistas and new paths, even when you think you are stuck between the rocks.
I played with the natural light that fell through the opening and enhanced the contrast between the warm tones of the rocks and the cool colours of the sea. This gives the photo depth and almost makes it seem like you are standing there yourself, looking at the boat in the distance.
This work brings colour and tranquillity to any space. It is a view of freedom, but also of silence - ideal for dreaming away in a living room, office or creative workspace. For anyone who loves travelling, the sea or pure nature, this is an image that brings both energy and relaxation.
