In a silent undergrowth, on the border between dream and memory, a stag emerges, motionless yet vibrant. Its gaze cuts through the morning mists, carrying an ancient call - a bram suspended between two worlds, that of the animal and that of the imaginary.
The inspiration for this illustration goes back to the influences that have shaped me: an aesthetic that is both soft and dark, nourished by visual tales, enchanted forests and hybrid creatures that are both familiar and strangely silent. It was born in this interior territory where the light is soft, the shadows welcoming, and where the marvellous flirts discreetly with the disquieting.
This drawing is a return to my roots: a journey through my visual influences as a teenager - somewhere between memories of old animated films with their hushed atmosphere, the poetic strangeness of certain phantasmagorical worlds, and the strange gentleness found in certain dream bestiaries. It's also a tribute to my imaginary forest, the one I find when I turn off the artificial noise.
Technically, I let the textures breathe: a fine line to maintain the tranquillity, soft and diffuse textures to evoke the damp silence of a deep forest, and subtle contrasts to underline this almost sacred atmosphere. Nothing is shouted, everything is whispered.
This work was not conceived as a simple décor, but as a presence. In an interior, Vestige de Brâme becomes a silent companion. It's for people who like to lose themselves in the margins of reality, in the hazy zones between tangible nature and invisible worlds - where the eye lingers and the imagination awakens.
