I was still out and about in the alleyways in the early morning darkness. It was quiet and deserted, which is rather unusual for this world-famous city.
I walked over one of the many small bridges that cross a canal. My gaze followed the canal that ran between tall houses or palazzi towards the Canale Grande.
Light shone in through an open door, sometimes illuminating a small tub with a green plant. What a great motif in the historic centre of Venice.
At the end of the canal you can see another small bridge before the water reaches the Grand Canal. On the opposite side you can see another palace.
As you can see in the picture, it doesn't always have to be the special buildings and landmarks.
The picture shows an inhabited and inviting Venice.
