Places that have set the rhythm of daily life for generations. Locations where people meet, make memories and where the past blends effortlessly into the present.

The iconic lift bridge at St Pancras is just such'a place.

On warm summer’s days, the canal beneath the bridge became a meeting place for young and old alike. Generations of children learnt to swim here, jumped into the water from the quay and challenged each other to perform the most spectacular or highest dive from the bridge.

This artwork forms part of my series ‘Icons of Sint Pancras’.

My name is Marcel Bakker owner and CEO of BAKKM. When I was 8 years old, my father gave me my first (Nikon) Camera. I was immediately sold, my father loved photography and the development process in particular. In our small flat, the bathroom was his darkroom and I was his willing student.

He taught me everything about photography.Yet it took until I was 50 before I really picked up a camera again.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
