About "VALKYRIE"

About the artwork

This photograph was taken in 2023 with a young cosplayer who had made the wings of her foam costume herself. I met her at a convention and fell in love with her costume. When I added a metal helmet to her outfit, I immediately thought of the Valkyries, the female warriors who choose the souls of the dead worthy of entering Valhalla.
Valkyrie takes its inspiration from a mythological theme, reinventing the Nordic archetype of these complex figures, both protective and terrifying, who choose who will live and who will die.
The raven in flight, held on the hand, is a key figure in Nordic symbolism. A companion of the gods (like Hugin and Munin, Odin's ravens), it embodies wisdom, prophecy and a link with the afterlife.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
