About ‘USS Nimitz (CVN-68) leaves the port of San Diego.’ by Jaap van den Berg
USS Nimitz (CVN-68) leaves the port of San Diego.
USS Nimitz is the flagship of the U.S. Nimitz class supercarriers. The ship's keel was laid in 1968 and it was launched in 1972. It was then commissioned by the United States Navy in 1975.
I took this photo on October 12, 2012.

Jaap van den Berg

I am Jaap van den Berg and photography has become a great passion of mine since 2010. Since then I travel all over the world to take pictures of military aircrafts. But besides aircraft I also love to photograph other subjects like landscapes, architecture, flowers, animals, ships and cranes. Evening photography and macro photography are also something I enjoy doing.
