USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.
The very impressive USS Arizona Memorial can only be reached by boat as part of a tour starting from the shore-based visitor centre.
Once on the memorial, you look into the water and just below the surface you can see the remains of one of the most important events in US history. The memorial is perpendicular to the wreck of the USS Arizona, at the spot where it was bombed by the Japanese on 7 December 1941. A total of 1,177 crew members of the USS Arizona died during that Japanese attack and have found their final resting place in this wreck.
