About the artwork
This abstract artwork shows a beautiful interplay between two round shapes. The two round shapes are not identical, but they do have similarities. The stripe pattern and soft pastel shades match both round shapes, but they are mirrored in relation to each other. Both shapes have a nice colour gradient in pastel shades in this pattern of stripes.
The shapes seem to seek each other out, there is a kind of attraction between the two. All this symbolises a union between two different worlds, people or things. They are essentially different yet attract each other because they also have similarities with each other.
The shapes seem to rotate, there is movement in them. It is a dynamic artwork executed in beautiful coherent colours.
The basis for this abstract artwork with round stripes is an ordinary photograph. A photo taken of a metal object from my kitchen. This object has a beautiful sheen that is also reflected in this artwork. Various colours of exposure were used when photographing. Finally, the photo was digitally duplicated and distorted. The addition of a dark black background completes the artwork and makes the soft tinted shapes shine even more.
