This beautiful diptych 'Diktic' shows two Tuscan landscapes painted in Watercolour (watercolour).
The left painting shows a summer landscape with the famous chapel called Chapel Vitaleta ( Capella della madonna Vitela) with a farmhouse next to it. In the foreground is a row of trees in the countryside with red flowers.
The painting on the right shows a red Tuscan house with tall green Cypresses in the surrounding hills and grassy hills. In the foreground are some red Poppies that give the picture a nice depth.
The playful thing about this diptych is that the diagonal lines of the landscapes are the same in both compositions, making the lines of one painting continue into the other.
These paintings are copied from my own photo images taken in the spring of 2009 during a beautiful tour of Tuscany. During this tour, I also visited the beautiful cities of Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Siena, San Gimignano and Volterra. You will also find paintings of these Italian cities and surrounding landscapes in my webshop.
