About "Traces of time on terracotta"

About the artwork

This picture tells stories - of sun, wind and weather, of decades of Portuguese history. The old, seemingly loosely laid terracotta roof tiles look like a mosaic of ageing. Each row of tiles is marked by the passage of time: with mosses, lichens and stains that have conquered their place between the clay grooves. Despite the intense sunlight, these little wonders of nature stubbornly defy the elements - a silent triumph of durability.

The motif originates from a traditional Portuguese village and symbolises the authenticity of the region. Nothing here is polished or artificial - instead, Portugal shows its most honest, charmingly weathered side. The warm colour palette of reds, browns, ochres and soft grey-greens makes this picture an ideal work of art for rooms with a rustic, Mediterranean or wabi-sabi-inspired style.

For anyone who appreciates the real thing and wants to bring a piece of living Portuguese history into their home. This photo is not a postcard cliché - it is pure character.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
