Drawing of the three Graces. Various patterns are incorporated in the background.
***
The three Graces, is originally a timeless symbol of beauty, joy and abundance.
In traditional depictions of the past, they danced hand in hand, embracing each other in harmonious union. But in modern times, the Graces have experienced the influence of #MeToo and individualism, shifting their dynamic to a focus on their individual journey and inner struggles.
No physical interaction connects them now, but an inner bond.
Aglaea struggles with the pressure of unattainable beauty ideals. Euphrosyne calls for justice and resilience in a world full of challenges and uncertainties. Thalia, symbol of abundance, seeks deeper meaning and connection amid a society often characterised by individualism and mobile phones.
This work does well on canvas, brushed aluminium but also on Plexiglas.
