The Kinderdijk windmills concern nineteen mills in the northwest of the Alblasserwaard, a region in the province of Zuid-Holland. They are polder mills, which form two mill raceways and are a major (including international) tourist attraction. All nineteen mills of the complex are owned by the Foundation World Heritage Kinderdijk. Since 1997 they are on the UNESCO World Heritage List and the area is also a protected village. The mill rows can only be visited on foot or by bike. One of the windmills, quite close to the buildings of Kinderdijk, can also be visited inside.
