About the artwork
I created this painting using acrylic paint.
The size of the original canvas I used is 80x60 cm.
As inspiration for the painting, I used a turtle I babysat for a while, with the idea of seeing the world instead of swimming in an aquarium.
Always so confined and instead, just being free.
I used the squirrel, which to me is a magical and free animal, as the opposite of the turtle.
Which takes the turtle on a revelatory journey, full of adventures and friends.
A beautiful story also accompanies this painting which reads as follows:
As the fireflies were dancing like little fireballs in the night.
The squirrel thought to himself:
How can fireflies shine so bright?
Do they have tiny batteries ?
Or do they have tiny flashlights attached to their body below?
Maybe they are just so happy.
And because of that, they glow.
