About ‘The setting sun shines through the trees’ by Mark van Harlingen

On a late afternoon in autumn, the sun shines through the trees in the Speulderbos near Ermelo. It is perfect weather for a fantastic walk. The sun is already turning to yellow, setting the remaining leaves on the trees in a beautiful yellow and light green glow. A few streaks of sunlight reach the ground, and there you can see a golden brown surface. Most people have already gone home, and I have the forest almost to myself. No noise from traffic. No noisy people. Just me and a few little birds. For a moment, I don't have to think about work or that chore at home. A blanket of peace descends upon me, and I become totally zen. After such a walk in peace and quiet, I am ready to go again.
