When I went on a Group Trip to Saudi Arabia in 2025, I did not expect to have the chance to photograph this 1970s Toyota pick-up somewhere in the middle of the desert in northwest Saudi Arabia. In fact, we had a flat tyre and were on the road with 2 cars. By chance, I saw this car parked and after shooting some action photos of the flat tyres, I got permission to walk to this ruined abandoned pick up in a small hamlet whose name I have already forgotten. The beauty in this photo is that despite the rust and the fact that the car is completely stripped, you still get a fatalistic perspective of an abandoned car which makes for a special and very fitting combination of how a layman would describe a desert area.
This photo shows action, impermanence and depicts how Mother Time is making her entrance into the unrelenting desert landscape Ideal for People who like rugged, raw photos that capture the imagination and do not immediately show where the photo came from. That room for imagination and the worldliness that comes with it makes this photo unique in its kind. the middle east on it's best!
