Inspiration: This bird wonders: does true love still exist? This bird knows the answer. Despite doubt, disappointment and longing, it continues to believe. Because true love doesn’t start with someone else, but with yourself. Sometimes love feels far away. Sometimes it turns blue for a moment. But it is always there.

My name is Yvonne Kok, an artist from Haarlem. I paint in a pop-street art style. Freedom, vulnerability and inner strength are central themes. This stems primarily from my personal journey. I mainly paint women and birds — symbols of daring to show your true self and being as free as a bird.
