The landscape of the Zaan region with mills.
The snow the landscape with clouds and the Zaan windmills and meadows. In the foreground the old millstones the ditches frozen in winter. The new industry far in the background. This photo is a classic image of the Zaan region. The winter landscape does add charm to the photo.
With my work as a street photographer, I show the rough, unpolished sides of city life. With my photos, I try to capture the beauty of everyday moments. The viewer can then invent his or her own story to go with it. I also have a fondness for industrial environments, such as harbour sites and factory buildings, where traces of the industrial past are still present. In doing so, I try to photograph subtle details, using both digital and analogue cameras.
